Everyone is hoping that Apple will reveal the final iOS 7 Gold Master on September 10. However what could the OS have that would be different to what is already available with iOS 6?
Apple may wish to ensure that they move away from Android and don’t copy all the apps, which may be pointless, which is already in the OS suggests Product-Reviews. They also suggest that Siri should have some magic if it is to be truly useable. Apple should do away with the voice recorder, along with the calendar. And one app that needs a makeover is Apple Maps points out the blog. Users of Android say that Apple have copied their ideas, however fans of the iPhone don’t agree with this of course.
If you look at previous releases of iOS you can say without doubt that Apple is not innovative. There are some cases where it seems that they do copy Android and then just build around it, to make it better says PR. However what is needed is something that we have never seen before.
Just yesterday we showed a video from Ran Avni, which showed a concept of iOS 7 and he had included some excellent multi-tasking. However this is nothing really special. One user even pointed out that an app to close all was something that Android has enjoyed for a while. So it is great to see that Apple have been keeping up with taking ideas that already exist and then adding bits to them, only to say that they had an innovative idea.
Apple needs to do something special and not just with the OS features but how it looks. Samsung for one introduced features such as Smart Stay, Smart Pause and Smart Scroll with the Samsung Galaxy S4 this year.
Voice recognition that recognises your voice may be a good idea for iOS 7 hints PR. It would also be nice if iOS 7 came with Siri alerts. For instance it could tell you when your battery was dying. Of course the list of what we would like to see in iOS 7 is endless and some of these could be classed as being stupid. However it may be just what is needed to make iOS truly different to Android and make it special and innovative like it once was called back when the original iPhone launched.
What ideas do you think should be included in iOS 7 too?
