Twitter just rolled out some more updates on Twitter.com and both its iOS and Android apps, with an emphasis on conversations that are happening between users in your stream.
Before this update, @reply conversations between two or more people were shown to be scattered all across your timeline, displayed among all the other tweets being posted in real time. Now, when a conversation shows up in your stream, the three most recent tweets of that conversation will be displayed together with a vertical blue line connecting the avatars of the users who are talking to each other.
If there are more than three tweets in that conversation, a link beneath the first tweet that says “X more replies” can be tapped or clicked to expand the thread and see the entire conversation. It’s a neat little new feature that will certainly make it a lot easier to avoid getting distracted by all the Twitter noise and follow conversations as they are taking place.
The updated Twitter apps for iOS and Android and available now from the App Store and Google Play.
